I am a C6 Quadriplegic who had a diving accident in 1994, when I was 15 years old. While it changed my life physically, it didn't change my addiction for speed and extreme activities. Beyond racing, I love Scuba Diving (I am the worlds only Quadriplegic that is a Rescue Scuba Diver) and Handcycling (I did 12 marathons in 12 months).
I started in this sport in 2021. My entry into Motorsports was because of a confluence of events: 1) we moved to Sharon CT, 7 miles away from Lime Rock Park, the countries most strategic race track 2) for our wedding anniversary my wife surprised me with a track day at Lime Rock, giving me a taste of track driving 3) I was born with a need for speed. While I know nothing about cars, I love driving.
Track driving is one of the most freeing experiences for someone in a wheelchair. After I clip in, I leave my chair in the paddock and I am 100% equal with everyone.
2023 marked my first year into competitive driving. I competed in NASA Time Trials (Watkins Glan), International GT (VIR), and World Racing League (COTA) events. 2024 surprised everyone (including me!) with multiple P1 and P2 finishes.
I live with my wife Maggie and dog Beau, in Sharon, CT and am in the marketing world as well as a public speaker.
In 2022 I co-founded Just Hands Foundation, an organization dedicated to getting people who use their hands to drive into performance driving. Please visit www.justhands.org for more.
Opposed to most online forms which go into the abyss, this one WILL get to me. Whether a question about hand controls, races, sponsorships, or just to say Hi, please drop me a note!!!
