Here is a collection of videos of my experiences. From in-car action to the modifications I made to make it driveable by hand.
Enjoy!
I brought a friend along to experience a few laps at Lime Rock Park. Since it is 360, use your mouse to look around the car!
Putting together a track car, whether disabled or not, is hard. It's an exercise in creativity and patients. Here I describe how I modified the car to work for me. For the products I have, go to the youtube page for the links.
Had some fun with NBC Sports talking about my journey and Just Hands.
Grateful to my friends at Pennzoil for highlighting what we are doing.
And always fun to see yourself on screen during NASCAR and IndyCar broadcasts. This time with Joey Logano.
Really enjoyed tracking with Chris Acosta. This is proof that you don't need a German logo to crush it. . :01 slower than last session as I was trying out different lines to account for balding tires. At the end you will see a Miata crash on the Uphill. She was ok.
One of the best parts of being on track is lead/follow with other cars like yours. Here, James and I "play" during session 4 of the BMW CVC HPDE @ Lime Rock. I am the orange car in front! I love videos from behind because I can really see my line.
Uphill at Lime Rock is a really hard section. If your wheels are not perfectly straight before you get to the top of the hill, you will dart in the direction off course. I was behind a Miata who turned slightly as she hit the crest and had no chance to recover. Luckily, she's ok. EMRA @ LIME ROCK 10/16/2021 SESSION 3 MIATA CRASH
This is my first time out with my BMW M3 Lime Rock Edition. More importantly, it's my first experience without traction control. You'll see the oversteer in a few places, but I was surprised how well I was able to correct it.
This may look boring, but it's superhelpful to see how the car handles vs how I felt inside the car. You can see I am trying different lines around the corners to get a feeling of different angles. Thanks to James for grabbing this video.
One of the most important parts of a car for a disabled person is the seat. Here you can see I am strapped in with a 6 Point Harness. I can NOT move when strapped in. Yet, when entering turns, you can see my body get compressed from side to side!!
